There’re lots of pluses of purchasing a house or villa in Cyprus. They include reasonable prices, low taxes, and conventional procedure of property acquisition.
According to Cyprus laws, a foreigner can purchase Cyprus realty – either flat, or lots, or a house on a lot (no larger than 12 000 square meters) – only once. Purchasing commercial realty is allowed only in case, when government considers it profitable for Cyprus economy development. It is ministry, where you will have to apply to receive permit for realty purchase. However, it is easy to receive such permit – you just should prove your paying capacity. Undoubted plus: you can buy realty on trust – besides, if you decide to obtain credit in Cyprus banks, rate won’t exceed 5.5%.
However, there’s one nuance in case with Cyprus realty. You need to trace carefully which area of Cyprus you are offered houses in. The matter is that situation with real estate in the North of the island, where government of self-appointed “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” (none country accepted it, except Turkey), is complicated.
During last years Cyprus government won several suits, adjudging foreign buyers’ property in Northern part of the island. By the way, that property was sold unlawfully – it still has owners in Greek part, they had to leave their housing after Turkey invasion in Cyprus in 1974. By the way, Cyprus embassy already warned foreigners from purchasing realty in this part of country. However, there’re still lots of “Northern Cyprus real estate” ads in Internet.
If you do not want to prove legality of realty you purchased juridically, you should better avoid such ads. Thus, a famous case “Apostolides against Orams” lasts for several years already. In 2004 Cyprus court invalidated living of a British couple on land, which earlier belonged to a Cyprian Greek, outcast from an occupied town Lapito. Judgement contemplated demolition of unduly constructions, return of free tenure to suitor and payment of indemnity. However, in the beginning of September Orams avoided the judgement in British court. And court determined in behalf of a British couple. Now Apostolides promises to avoid it again, already in International Court of Justice. And this time he will most likely win.

The capital of Thailand is Bangkok, which is the largest city in Thailand and also owns one of the world's biggest international airports. Thailand has 75 provinces and two special governed districts: one is Bangkok and the other is Pattaya. Thai population is virtually made up by ethnic Thai and Lao and more than 94% of them are Buddhists. Thai people worship Buddha and ancestors and that's what makes the Thai culture. Thai people respect their religion and ancestors so much that it comes into their way of greeting each other: they greet other people with a prayer-like gesture. Thais are very friendly and smiling, that's why this country is also called "the land of smiles". Thai people like talking openly to everyone, including foreigners. Tourists coming to Thailand are always warmly greeted by all Thais, from kids to old people. Even if you don't know much about the Thai language, you can still have a good time interacting with the local residents.
Thailand is a typical tropical country with a hot and humid climate. There are two seasons in a year: the dry and the rainy season. The rainy season is from July to November. Nowadays Thailand has a fast growing and open economy which benefits a great deal from the tourism industry. More than 10 million tourists go to Thailand every year, but this number fell sharply after its tsunami disaster at the end of 2004. The most badly affected area is Phuket - one of the most beautiful destinations for tourists, with its glorious beaches. Much advertising effort has been made since, to recover the tourism industry.
Besides tourism, agriculture is also the strength of this country. Thailand has been the leading country in exporting rice for more than a decade. However, the Thai economy and food chain has been stricken once more by the recent avian flu epidemic which has adversely affected poultry farming in the entire area.
In contrast to the beautiful city sights, grand hotels and luxury resorts, a large proportion of the Thai population still live in poverty in suburban areas and ragged villages, although the government is always trying to develop the Thai economy as well as improving the living standard for the poor across the country.

Alicante or Alicant (Valencian Catalan) is the largest city in the Costa Blanca region of Spain and is one of the most beautiful places you could wish to travel to if you take the time and the effort to explore the region and some of it's sheer beauty.
Located between Murcia and Valencia, Alicante has some of the best beaches in Spain with San Juan, Muchavista and Campello beaches being real gems with beautiful, clean sea and sand which appeal to both families, couples and surfers alike with calm days and days when the waves can be quite high due to strong winds of late.
Amongst the many varied and more popular attractions are the Castillo de Santa Barbara (Alicante City), Terra Natura (Benidorm), Terra Mitica (Benidorm) and Mundomar (Benidorm). There are also areas of outstanding beauty such as the mountains of Busot village situated just outside of Campello (also known as El Campello). Not only does Busot have it's popular attraction Cuevas de Canelobre (Canelobre Caves) but it also has vast amounts of stunning scenery in complete tranquillity. To get to these spots you need to do some investigating, but it is well worth it because you will find yourself all alone on some breath-taking trails overlooking Campello and surrounding villages.
To see all that is on offer, you have to arrange car hire in Alicante from either the airport or from a local town or city and prices start at €10 per day for a small car and reserving before your visit is essential in busy periods of the year.
Where else but Alicante can you find such a diverse amount of activities, places of interest and things to do. In the morning you could travel to the Sierra Nevadas (Grenada) and be snowboarding and in the afternoon soaking up the sun, sea and sand on a beautiful, spacious beach. Not only this, but you can also get ferries to Majorca, Ibiza and Tabarca Island from Alicante harbour, so you will never have a lack of options available to you.
Real estate property in Alicante is another reason for visitors to come and like the rest of Costa Blanca, is a popular place where expats come to invest or to emigrate to. Property prices have rapidly increased over the years due to demand and the Euro being introduced, but if you are prepared to move inland slightly, or away from popular areas such as Benidorm and Javea, you can find some real bargains in comparison to the UK property market. Purchasing property in Spain is more expensive tax and legal-wise but it is still worthwhile as long as the Euro is weaker than the Pound.
Alicante's hotels are varied and you have a wide variety of choice when coming to this region of Spain and if you do some research you will get a hotel to suit your budget and requirements, just remember to book early in high-seasons to ensure a beach-side location.
Getting cheap flights to Alicante has never been easier thanks to Alicante airport being such a popular international destination and it is expanding continuously with new airlines operating from there.
